ENERGY SURCHARGE
 MEXICO

Dear Valued Customer:
The price of Diesel and fuel oil in Mexico , and for global energy in general, has increased to unprecedented levels. The rise in energy prices has had a significant impact on the mining and production costs of our operations. As a result, since April 1, 2008 (or as current price agreements expire), Imerys Diatomita Mexico SA de CV (former Celite Mexicana, S.A. de C.V.) has implemented an Energy Surcharge, subject to any applicable provisions in individual contracts, which will appear as a separate line item on your invoice.
We are adjusting the Energy Surcharge monthly based on the Pemex public price of Diesel and fuel oil versus the base prices of MXN 5.93 for Diesel and MXN 4.98 for fuel oil.
The Energy Surcharge is calculated in the month proceeding the month of implementation. The chart below outlines the Energy Surcharge.
The Energy Surcharge for May 2012 is based on the March 2012 price of MXN 10.36 for Diesel and MXN 10.49 for fuel oil. Reference Pemex calculation details. Any future changes in the Energy Surcharge will become effective the first day of the month.
